Wayne Whitney, our choir director and organist since 1997, has decided to retire from that position. Over the years he has been an outstanding leader and musical mentor. With a combination of unfailing cheerfulness and exceptional musical skill, he has led the choir in providing beautiful and inspiring music for all or us.

Sunday 30 August was Wayne's last day as organist, and we gathered after the service for a parish party in his honour, and to acknowledge the strong support he has had from Faye and Kristen. Later in the afternoon Sue and John Fleck acted as hosts to a choir party for Wayne.

So we say
Thank you for the music, the hymns we’re singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, we ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a hymn or a psalm what are we?
So we say thank you for the music
For giving it to me!
