St. James’ Church Picnic - June 1st
-
There is a sign-up sheet at the
church entrance for those planning to attend.
Please indicate whether you could bring dessert or salad, numbers of
people attending and number of hotdogs or hamburgers needed.
(Details in the church mailing)
Dickinson Days- Saturday June 7th -
We are looking for volunteers to help
out at the St. James’ table (2 hour shifts) and anyone who owns a small
generator they could lend for the day, please contact Heather Brophy.
Many thanks!
Outreach: Meals
on Wheels -
Every Wednesday morning,
volunteers from St. James Anglican Church deliver about 25 hot meals to seniors
and adults with disabilities in our community. More
volunteers are urgently needed.
Would you be willing to donate 2 hours of your time once per month to
deliver meals? Contact: Frances
Huddleson.
No Scents Makes Sense -
Please do not wear or use
fragranced products (i.e., perfume, cologne, aftershave, deodorants) in the
church as we have many parishioners who are seriously affected by the chemicals
present in them. Your consideration of those sensitive people around you will be
greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Love
to Sing?
During the summer, the choir does not rehearse on Thursday evenings, nor
sing an Anthem on Sunday. We invite you to sing with the choir.
This is an invitation to everyone who enjoys singing and making music
together! Simply join us a few
minutes before the service downstairs in the McGregor Room so that we may
welcome you, or contact Wayne.
Hymn Suggestions -
During the summer
months June 8th – August 31st, we will be singing your favourite hymns.
If you have a favourite hymn please fill in this
form. Provide your name and
phone number if you would like Wayne to let you know which Sunday your hymn(s)
will be sung.
Flowers
-
If you
would like to donate flowers as a thank-offering or memorial for the Christmas
services, please sign the flower chart at the church entrance or contact Heather
Fogo.
Pastoral
Care
-
The Pastoral Care Team is available to help with visits, phone calls and
various pastoral needs. If you know someone.......a relative, a friend, a
neighbour, even a stranger.......who is lonely, elderly, shut-in, chronically
ill, distressed, who could use some assistance, please don't hesitate to let us
know.
Prayer
list -
If you wish to have a name added for the Sunday service only, please
write the name on the sheet provided in the prayer basket at the back of the
church prior to the service, so that the Lay Assistant has time to pick the note
up and add the name to the list. If you wish to submit a name for longer term
listing, please call the office with
details, or fill out a form and leave it in the prayer basket, noting the length
of time desired. For urgent and immediate prayers, please contact Myra
Conway of the Prayer Chain Ministry.
