Terry O'Connor Window
Sunday 23 November 2008

Terry O'Connor was organist and choir director for a period of 19 years at Saint James' Church.  The choir today owes much to his leadership and musical innovation.  Friendly and outgoing, he also set the highest possible standards, both for himself and for the choir.  He and Judy were for so many years at the heart of the parish.  Terry died on April 6 of this year.  In grateful recognition of his many contributions, his friendship and his unfailing encouragement, the parish dedicated a memorial window in his name on Sunday 23 November, appropriately following the day commemorating Saint Cecelia, the patron saint of musicians.  The window includes (below, right) the opening notes of Terry's composition of the Gloria, sung every Sunday at Saint James'.
