Outreach: The 'Bun Run'
10 February 2005

One of the many outreach activities of Saint James' parish is the distribution of baked goods to needy families in this region.  Every Friday morning a small team of parishioners meets to collect the food, load it in cars, and deliver it. At present the team consists of Hugh Best, Murray Cole, Kathy Pitcher and Spruce and Marsha Riordon.  Robinson's 'Your Independent Grocer' in Manotick generously supplies bread and other baked items for this purpose.

Marsha and Kathy bring out a basket of food and begin loading it into boxes and bags.

At this time of year it can be pretty cold outside, especially early in the morning.

Once the food is loaded in cars, we proceed to have a hot cup of coffee before heading off for our  deliveries.
