Ed Downey's Visit
23 September 2001

On Sunday 23 September, the church was filled when we welcomed Venerable Ed Downey back to Saint James' as part of our 125th Anniversary celebrations.  In his sermon he sketched some of the background relating to the establishment of Saint James' as a separate parish in 1957, and the building of the former rectory on Millview Street.  Following the service parishioners gathered for a pot luck lunch and a chat.

Shown above is Ed Downey talking to Phil Whittall.  Below we see just a few of the many people who shared in this event.
