Rideau Township Historical Society
The Rideau Township Historical Society was established September 18, 1974 as an affiliate of the Ontario Historical Society. Key records and publications are held at the North Gower Archives. The objectives of RTHS are:
Unless otherwise indicated, meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month from October to May. These normally consist of a presented paper relating to the history of the Township or the surrounding region. Meetings in other months, particularly September and June, may take the form of excursions to historic locations. All interested persons are welcome to attend our events. Notices of future meetings are placed in the Manotick Messenger and the public libraries in Manotick and North Gower and are mailed to all RTHS members. Annual membership dues are $10.00 for an individual, or $15.00 for a family. Write to us at the address above or send email queries to the President, Mark Jodoin. Please note that the non-profit Friends of the Rideau Township Archives offer a microfilm service to help preserve historical records.
